When does your Fascia and Soffits Need Repairing?
The fascia is the board running along the edge of your roof, carrying the gutters and closing off the ends of the rafters. The soffit is the panel underneath, bridging the gap between the fascia and the wall while ventilating the roof space.
Together they keep rain, birds and vermin out of your attic, so when either fails the damage moves indoors quickly. Damp rafter ends, stained ceilings upstairs and gutters pulling away from the wall are all signs the roofline needs attention.

Not every tired roofline needs ripping off. Where the boards are sound and the problem is localised, we repair: refixing loose sections, replacing individual lengths, resealing joints and rehanging gutters that have dropped out of fall.

Where timber fascia has rotted through, replacement is the honest recommendation. We replace with uPVC as standard, which never needs painting and shrugs off Dublin weather, though we also fit new timber where you want to keep the original look on a period property. Replacement is also the right time to renew the guttering, since the access equipment is already up and old brackets rarely survive being moved.

Most of the roofline problems we see start with the gutters. Blocked, cracked or badly pitched guttering soaks the fascia behind it, and by the time the leak is visible the timber is often already soft.
We repair leaking joints, replace broken sections and correct the fall so water actually reaches the downpipe, and we fit complete new uPVC or aluminium systems where the old run is past saving. Every job ends with the gutters cleared and running, not just the damaged section swapped. Persistent overflows sometimes point to a blocked gully at ground level rather than the gutter itself, which our plumbing and drainage team can clear on the same visit.
